We were set up through our mutual friends Julie and Jordan in September of 2022, and after messaging for a couple weeks, we were finally in the same country and could meet for dinner. Immediately we clicked, and on a bathroom break, Veronica texted her best friend, "Oh no the date is actually good, I like him already." Cameron made plans for a concert together two days later, and we kept making plans after that.

Luckily things couldn't move too fast, between the Brooklyn- Manhattan distance, Veronica traveling every few weeks, and Cameron busy with his MFA. But less than a month after meeting, we made the risky decision to do a Maine road trip. After a fun weekend without getting tired of each other, we both knew this was going somewhere.
